Whois provozuje registr dané koncovky a slouží k zpřístupnění informací o doménách veřejnosti. Informace které ve whois lze dohledat se mohou lišit v závislosti na TLD, každá koncovka má vlastní pravidla na data která jsou veřejná. Například u .cz domén je ve whois vždy vidět jméno majitele ale u gTLD tomu tak není. Ve whois většinou nenaleznete citlivá data jako je e-mail a telefonní číslo.
Pomocí whois lze například ověřit registrátora domény, datum expirace nebo zjistit jaké name servery doména využívá.
Whois pro vybrané koncovky:
Existují i obecné whois služby které umí vyhledávat ve více registrech zároveň. V subregu máte tuto možnost také, v menu pod sekcí domény naleznete náš WHOIS který umí vyhledat v registrech většiny námi nabízených koncovek.
